Austin Reeves, Anthony Davis, and LeBron James were absent from the game.

So far, the Los Angeles Lakers’ willingness to take long-range shots has been the story of the team’s preseason. The Lakers improved their three-point shooting significantly over last season, making 93 of 200 attempts in two preseason games. Anthony Davis was urged by head coach Davon Hamm to be more active on the perimeter.

оn Wednesday night at the Hоnda Center in Anaheim, the Lakers will play their third preseasоn game against the Sacramentо Kings, hоping tо keep their hоt shооting gоing. Since LeBrоn James, Anthоny Davis, Austin Reeves, Jared Vanderbilt, and Cam Reddish are all sidelined fоr the secоnd time in the preseasоn, this оpens the dооr fоr sоme оther players tо see mоre actiоn.

With key players out for the season, D’Angelo Russell, who has excelled in the preseason, should receive even more attention. Perhaps most surprisingly, Russell only committed one turnover while shooting 61.1% from the field and 75% from deep, giving up 11 assists.

The Kings surprised everyone by winning the Pacific Division and securing the third seed in the Western Conference in 2022–23, seasons in which they were hoping to achieve their first win of the preseason and put together a successful campaign.

Despite Murray’s absence, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis continue to be one of the greatest duos in the NBA, with solid supporting players like Harrison Barnes and Keegan Murray. Sasha Vezenkov, a three-time Most Valuable Player in the Greek League whom the Sacramento squad signed to a $20 million contract this offseason, is a player to keep an eye on.
