Hyundai Palisade Night Edition costs $53,600

Happily, cheaper models still represent excellent value for money.

Hyundai has introduced a new trim level to the Palisade lineup, aimed at discerning buyers who crave luxury and sinister style. It’s called the Night Edition, and it’s based on the range-topping Calligraphy trim. We already touched on the new model earlier this year, but Hyundai has shared more details about the blacked-out Palisade.

New for MY2024, the Palisade Night Edition sets itself apart from lesser models with dark-tinted chrome trim on the grille, rear bumper, logos, and door-side moldings. Similarly, the 20-inch wheels, lower fascias (front and rear), and roof rails have also been finished in black. Two exterior colors are offered on this trim: Abyss Black and Hyper White.

Inside, the Night Edition also receives a few exclusive touches, such as dark aluminum upper console inlays and black micro-suede upholstery for the seats. Regular Calligraphy models receive Nappa leather interiors. AWD is also standard.

All this style and luxury comes at a price, though. The 2024 Palisade Night Edition is priced at $53,600, which makes it $1,500 pricier than the standard Calligraphy with AWD. If you don’t require the extra grip afforded by AWD, the Calligraphy is also available in FWD guise and costs $50,100. If you’re looking for a practical and safe family SUV with all the features, that is your best bet.

But what about the rest of the range? Well, the 2024 Palisade lineup kicks off with the SE at $36,400. Despite its entry-level status, this trim ships with everything one could conceivably need, including 18-inch wheels, nine airbags, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, to name a few features.

The Palisade SEL comes in at $39,150 and adds heated front seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and leatherette seating surfaces to the package.

The XRT is aimed at those who prefer the SUV to have a rugged appearance. This trim also receives a dark grille finish and black roof rails but gains model-specific 20-inch wheels and bumpers. It’s yours for $41,550.

Priced at $47,700, the Limited trim receives genuine leather upholstery, ambient lighting, heated seats in the third row, and a full-color head-up display. All-wheel drive can be specified on all models (excluding the Night Edition) for an additional $2,000. The pricing mentioned above does not include the $1,335 destination and delivery fees.

As a reminder, all models are powered by the familiar 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled to the driven wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Palisade is a great buy, but the competition is heating up. However, a new Palisade is on the horizon and is rumored to receive a turbocharged hybrid engine.
