Africa is home to the D’Arnaud’s Barbet, whose Latin name is Trachyphonus Darnaudil. Barbets are a species of almost passerine bird found in tropical regions around the world, along with toucans. The bristles that border the strong bills of the bearded ones are the origin of their name.
Barbets thrive in both tree canopies and on the ground, reaching a maximum height of around 8 inches. They dig a tunnel about two to three feet long that leads to the nesting chamber in their nest in the ground. Males and females engage in a showy, toy-like dance that includes shaking, moving, shaking, and singing during courtship.
