Steph Curry would love to have Andrew Wiggins back, but is giving him space.
The Golden State Warriors would love to have Andrew Wiggins back before the playoffs, but the team wants to give him the necessary space possible. At this point, the Warriors have to operate as if Wiggins isn’t returning, but the team, including Steph Curry, would love to have him back.
After the Golden State Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, Steph Curry addressed Andrew Wiggin after being asked.
“The same as it’s always been,” Curry said. “We’d love to have him. Hope that that does happen. We want to be whole, and I’m sure he wants to be a part of this. But when he walks through the door is when it’ll be the right time for him. That’s the expectation to him, so nothing has really changed.”
While the Warriors have been waiting for Andrew Wiggins to return, it’s become very clear that they’re operating as if he won’t be. The most telling sign of that is the fact that Steph Curry was asked if he’s still been talking to Wiggins, to which his answer was no.
“Not that consistent, no, more space.”
The door is wide-open for Andrew Wiggins whenever he’s ready to return. The Golden State Warriors have found a way to survive without him, avoiding the play-in as the sixth seed. The Warriors aren’t in the clear just yet, but they’re on the right path.
